Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Chen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bubba Short (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramon Chen had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Short throws a half hearted mid kick.
Chen really is a fat lump.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Chen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Short moves into the clinch successfully.
Short is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Chen decides to pull guard.
Short wanted to stand there but Chen had control of the position.
Chen tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Short is looking to stand up but Chen won't let him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bubba Short wasn't active enough on the ground.

Short throws a combination. Chen tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Short throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Chen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Short avoids a kick to the body.
Short throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Short shoots for a double leg takedown but Chen sprawls well. He's pushed Short's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Short circles away from the clinch attempt.
Short darts in looking for a takedown but Chen gets double underhooks and turns Short into the cage.
Ramon Chen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bubba Short.

Chen lands a head kick. Short smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Chen throws a push kick but Short slaps the foot to one side.

Chen jumps guard but Short turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Short moves into range and clinches up with Chen.
Chen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Chen drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Short manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chen has Short in his guard.
Short must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Short goes for a double leg but Chen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Chen continues to drive forward.

Short goes for a takedown in the clinch but Chen prevents it.

Chen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Short rushes Chen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Short goes for a takedown attempt but Chen pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Short throws a series of punches but Chen moves out of range.

Chen pulls guard effortlessly.

Short drops back, looking for a kneebar! Chen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Chen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Chen!
Chen creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Short sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Chen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Short wants to control but Chen postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Chen drops back looking for a leg! Short is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Short manages to kick Chen off! Chen jumps back into Short's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ramon Chen.
I think Short has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
