Lakopa comes to the cage accompanied by Armaggedon. Hemingway is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Respect. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Filipo Lakopa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Hemingway!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hemingway will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lakopa fails with the takedown

and Hemingway counters with a takedown into side control.
Lakopa is looking for a sweep.
Hemingway wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lakopa keeps working.
Lakopa's coaches at BLACKSMITH GYM - THE 25 Coach Las Vegas Mega-Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Lakopa is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hemingway wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lakopa keeps working.
Lakopa wants to control but Hemingway postures up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hemingway cracks Lakopa with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Lakopa is trying to control Hemingway's posture but Hemingway avoids it.

Lakopa tries to buck Hemingway off but Hemingway is having none of it.

Hemingway tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hemingway has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Lakopa is not content to let Hemingway control the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The ground and pound from Hemingway seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Hemingway throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Lakopa is looking for a sweep.
Hemingway trying to control the action but Lakopa is working from the bottom.

Hemingway working the head and body with strikes.
Hemingway is looking to take a break and control but Lakopa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lakopa is looking to regain half guard here but Hemingway keeps moving and retains side control.
The strikes coming from Hemingway are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Lakopa manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lakopa wants to get back to full guard.
Hemingway wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lakopa keeps working.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hemingway connects with a nice short shot to Lakopa's temple.

Hemingway tries to pass to full mount but Lakopa defends it.
Lakopa is holding on to half guard well.
Hemingway thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hemingway scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Lakopa trying to hold on to Hemingway's head to control him but Hemingway postures up.
Well, if Hemingway is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lakopa is trying to get back to full guard.
Hemingway is pressing down on Lakopa's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lakopa is holding on for now.
Hemingway wants to control but Lakopa is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hemingway lands strikes from half guard.
Hemingway is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lakopa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hemingway is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lakopa sees it coming and defends easily.
Hemingway is looking to advance position but Lakopa won't allow it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lakopa is trying to maintain the position but Hemingway is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Hemingway dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hemingway plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Lakopa swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Lakopa face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). James Hemingway!
Our winner, James Hemingway, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
