PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dmonray Malapitan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sid Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malapitan comes to the cage accompanied by My Time is Now. Morrison has chosen The Clocks as his entrance music. Sid Morrison told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 17 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dmonray Malapitan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sid Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morrison has his takedown stuffed

and Malapitan counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Malapitan's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Malapitan wants to control from the top but Morrison keeps moving.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Malapitan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morrison is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Malapitan is aware though and is defending well.
Morrison trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Malapitan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morrison swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Malapitan looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Malapitan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Morrison is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Malapitan is aware though and is defending well.
Malapitan is in close to Morrison's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Malapitan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Morrison is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Malapitan passes Morrison's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Malapitan connects with a nice short shot to Morrison's temple.
Malapitan is nestled in close to Morrison, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Morrison tries to roll over but Malapitan keeps him under control.
Malapitan is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Malapitan takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Malapitan performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Malapitan passes to full mount!
Malapitan is landing with some decent strikes but Morrison is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


Morrison is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Morrison is still in real trouble! Can Malapitan finish him?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morrison really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Morrison seems to have recovered his senses.
Malapitan wants to control the pace but Morrison is squirming around nicely.
Morrison throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Malapitan controlling from mount.
Malapitan is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Morrison takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Malapitan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Morrison can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Malapitan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Malapitan lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Malapitan postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Morrison looks a forlorn figure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morrison takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Malapitan's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dmonray Malapitan!
Dmonray Malapitan thanked the fans post fight for their support.
The defeated Sid Morrison had this to say: 'I'm sad to say that this will be my final fight in CONFLICTION. I would like to thank the fans who have supported me throughout all of my fights. It's time to move on to the next chapter in my career.'.
