The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dren's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Dren's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Co Co takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Dren moves into the clinch.

Co Co is trying to trip Dren. He has hold of a leg but Dren is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Co Co persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Co Co accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Co Co makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dren wants to sweep here but Co Co controlling him for the moment.
Co Co throws a big right hand that misses.
Co Co is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dren is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Co Co gets to his feet and stands over Dren, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Dren felt that one! Co Co unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Dren from any more punishment!
