Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Satoshi Ishii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendrick Bowens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Satoshi Ishii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kendrick Bowens!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ishii closes the distance and pushes Bowens back into the cage.
Ishii is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
A head punch on the inside from Bowens fails to land.
Ishii drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bowens gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bowens is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Satoshi Ishii. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ishii changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bowens fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Ishii shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bowens wants to sweep here but Ishii controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bowens working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ishii doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ishii manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ishii wants to pass the guard but Bowens is keeping the position.
Ishii stops Bowens from standing up.

Bowens had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ishii defends it easily.
Bowens keeping moving, preventing Ishii from controlling successfully.
Ishii trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Bowens working for a triangle but Ishii defends it easily.
Ishii pushing down on Bowens's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Ishii missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Ishii wants to take a breather but Bowens is having none of it.
Ishii works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ishii is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bowens is surviving well by controlling Ishii's body position as best he can.

Ishii is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bowens to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bowens shrugs it off.
Bowens prevents Ishii from taking his back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ishii wants to finish this one by submission but Bowens is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ishii.
Ishii takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Ishii has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Ishii looking to break Bowens's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Bowens remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Ishii will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Ishii is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Bowens has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ishii is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Bowens staying busy and making it hard for Ishii to control.
Bowens really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ishii. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ishii is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Bowens knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Bowens for a finish.

Bowens is really stuck here.

Ishii is persistently looking for the submission but Bowens is defending it well.

Ishii is working for a rear naked choke. Bowens is not defending it well and Ishii has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Bowens refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Bowens's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Satoshi Ishii!
