Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maurits Arce!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ali Said jumps into guard, dragging Arce to the mat.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Arce content to stall in guard here.
Ali Said wants to sweep but no luck.
Arce stays in close to Ali Said's body and controls the position.
Arce told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Ali Said thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ali Said is trying to keep Arce in close.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mohamed Ali Said has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Ali Said shoots in and bounces Arce off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ali Said has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ali Said pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Arce is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Arce is pulling down on Ali Said's head. It's preventing any offense from Ali Said, at least for the moment.
Ali Said is looking to advance position but Arce has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Arce looking to control and managing it successfully.

Ali Said wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Arce trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Ali Said doesn't escape.
Ali Said is trying to break free.
Arce has good solid back control here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ali Said tries to escape the position.

Arce controls the action.
Let's hope that Arce has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ali Said prevents Arce from getting a body triangle.

Arce is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Ali Said has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Arce has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Ali Said taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Arce doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Maurits Arce!
Maurits Arce was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
