Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Francesco Stokes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Josh Wittingham!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wittingham decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Stokes has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Wittingham is on him like a limpet, forcing Stokes back against the cage.
Stokes wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Wittingham manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Stokes stands up from Wittingham's guard - Stokes perhaps looking for a knockout.

Wittingham moves into range and clinches up with Stokes.

Stokes jumps into guard, dragging Wittingham to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wittingham got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stokes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wittingham has managed to get both his arms back between Stokes's legs - danger averted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stokes stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Wittingham closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Stokes jumps guard but Wittingham stands there with Stokes around his waist. Stokes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Stokes drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wittingham gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Stokes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Stokes tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That was a close round but I would say that Francesco Stokes will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Stokes has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wittingham is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Stokes.
Wittingham remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Wittingham has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
