Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bill Batson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ninja Monk!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batson slaps away a takedown attempt from Monk, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Monk has his takedown stuffed
and Batson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Batson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Batson scores with a jab.
Batson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Monk closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Monk lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Batson being controlled here, momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ninja Monk was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Batson misses with an uppercut
and Monk counters with an outside leg kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Monk is defended easily by Batson.
Bill Batson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ninja Monk.
Monk shoots for a takedown but Batson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Batson throws a series of punches but Monk moves out of range.
Monk gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Batson counters with a nice uppercut.
Batson misses with a straight right.
A clash of legs there as Monk blocks the low kick.
Batson scores with a jab to the head.
A nice leg kick lands there from Batson.
Monk shoots in but no luck this time.
Monk has a takedown stuffed.

Monk shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Monk fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Batson to the ground. Monk is now in Batson's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Batson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Batson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Monk controls the pace.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Monk ducks under a wild hook from Batson.
Batson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Monks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Batson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Batson wants it to stay on the feet.
Monk misses with a takedown
enabling Batson to counter with a crisp jab.

Batson misses with a low kick.
Monk fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Monk ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Batson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Monk.
Nice body kick from Batson.
Monk checks a leg kick.
Monk lands a right hook to the body.
Monk has his takedown stuffed
and Batson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Monk drops his hands momentarily and Batson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Monk ducks right into an uppercut from Batson.
Monk shoots in for a takedown but Batson shows good takedown defense.
Monk fails with the takedown
and Batson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Monk looks winded!
Batson scores with the left hand. Monk knows he should have avoided that one.
Bill Batson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Batson misses with a hook
letting Monk counter with a right hand.
Batson lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Monk can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Batson and Monk drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Batson.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bill Batson!
Our winner, Bill Batson, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
Ninja Monk spoke after the fight, saying 'Another close decision lost? Maybe ToTT wrote that I won? '.
