PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benito Gould (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Olaf Seewolf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Benito Gould!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Olaf Seewolf!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Seewolf rushes Gould and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Seewolf with a knee to the head.
Gould stalls.
Seewolf goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Seewolf breaks from the clinch.
Seewolf slips a straight right by Gould.

Seewolf closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gould trying to hold on to Seewolf's head to control him but Seewolf postures up.
Gould keeping control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gould works his way to full guard. Good work.
Gould pulls Seewolf in close to prevent any damage.
Gould keeping moving, preventing Seewolf from controlling successfully.
Gould seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

We're going to have a standup here because Benito Gould wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Gould gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gould tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Seewolf trying to control but Gould is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Seewolf in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Gould will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Seewolf trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Gould looking for a sweep. Not yet Gould, not yet.
Seewolf is looking to stand up but Gould won't let him.
Gould is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Seewolf stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gould swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gould has control of Seewolf's left arm, preventing Seewolf from doing any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Seewolf shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gould napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Gould manages to work his way to half guard, despite Seewolf's best efforts.
Seewolf with the ground and pound but Gould uses the opportunity to regain guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Gould manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Seewolf tries to break the clinch but Gould is controlling the position.

Seewolf tightens his grip and picks Gould up, before dumping him to the ground. Gould manages to land in guard.
Seewolf prevents Gould from getting back to his feet.
Seewolf pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gould is keeping the position for now.

Gould has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Seewolf has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Gould.

Seewolf has Gould pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Seewolf pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Gould tumbling to the mat - Seewolf dives into Gould's guard.
Seewolf won't allow Gould to sweep him here.

Gould throws his legs up looking for a submission but Seewolf uses it to pass to side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Seewolf working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Olaf Seewolf dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



A momentary lapse in concentration from Gould enables Seewolf to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gould manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gould is pulling down on Seewolf's head to control his posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Benito Gould wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Seewolf throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Seewolf throws a wild body kick that Gould sees coming a mile off.

Seewolf closes the distance and clinches.

Seewolf ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Seewolf no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Seewolf throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Seewolf looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Gould trying to control the position from guard on top but Seewolf is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Seewolf trying to keep a closed guard but Gould is proving a slippery customer.
Gould postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Gould throws a big right hand that misses.
Seewolf is looking to stand up but Gould isn't so interested in that idea.
Seewolf is breathing heavily.

Gould gets to his feet. Seewolf looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Seewolf drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gould is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gould is trying to work for a kimura but Seewolf is defending well.
Gould controlling the action here.
Gould working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gould looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Seewolf with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Gould slips a nice elbow through Seewolf's hands, connecting with Seewolf's forehead.
Gould wants to lay and pray for a moment but Seewolf keeps working.
Benito Gould overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gould winds up and cracks Seewolf with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Seewolf tries to get to full guard but Gould has control of the leg.
Gould is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Gould stalling away here and it's allowed Seewolf to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Gould is working for a kimura but Seewolf is defending it quite comfortably.

Gould is trying to control. Seewolf wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gould not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Gould takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Seewolf wants to control but Gould is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Gould working over Seewolf with some ground and pound. Seewolf looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Gould is stalling here. Seewolf is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Gould seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Seewolf has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

Benito Gould dominated that second round.
That's time! Gould's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Seewolf throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gould was covering up waiting for the punch and Seewolf finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Seewolf looking to sit in guard and control but Gould gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Gould lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Gould throwing strikes from guard but Seewolf blocks nicely.
Seewolf is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gould wants to control from the top but Seewolf keeps moving.
Gould with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gould throws a big elbow that misses.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Gould drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Seewolf dives on top into guard.
Seewolf slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Seewolf got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gould has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Seewolf has managed to get both his arms back between Gould's legs - danger averted.
Gould is adopting a defensive guard.
Gould wants to sweep here but Seewolf controlling him for the moment.

Seewolf stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gould swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Seewolf takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Olaf Seewolf was stalling too much, according to the referee.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gould.

Seewolf wants to pass the guard but Gould is defending well.

Gould has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Seewolf wants to control from the top but Gould keeps moving.

Seewolf stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gould swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Olaf Seewolf wasn't active enough on the ground.

Seewolf closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gould quickly recovers to half guard.
Seewolf throwing shots but Gould is blocking nicely.
Seewolf wants to stand but Gould has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Olaf Seewolf comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Seewolf has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
