PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lex Titan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodney Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moore has chosen I Stand Alone - Godsmack as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lex Titan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodney Moore!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moore shoots in but Titan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Titan displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Titan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Titan throws a head kick that misses.
Moore changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Titan tries to avoid it but Moore manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Titan to the ground. Titan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Moore punishes Titan's body with a nice straight punch.
Moore shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Titan as he jumps to the side.
Lex Titan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodney Moore.
Titan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Moore takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Titan steps into range and cracks Moore with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Moore flops backwards and Titan dives into his guard looking to finish!

Moore is rocked!
Titan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Moore is still in real trouble! Can Titan finish him?

Moore escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Titan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Moore seems to have recovered his senses.
Titan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Titan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moore looking for a sweep. Not yet Moore, not yet.

Titan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Titan wants to pass the guard but Moore is keeping the position.
Moore trying to keep a closed guard but Titan is proving a slippery customer.

Titan tries to free his leg and advance position but Moore is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Titan scores with the left hand. Moore knows he should have avoided that one.
Moore misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Moore tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Titan swivels and escapes.
Titan loads up on a big right hand but Moore slips the punch.
Moore gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Moore tries to bum rush Titan with a series of wild strikes but Titan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Some wild striking there from Titan.
Titan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Moore throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Titan counters with a one-two to the body.

It looks like Rodney Moore has been cut.
Moore slips a jab and a cross from Titan.
Moore finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Moore blocks a head kick by Titan.

Titan rushes Moore and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Titan.
Moore is trying desperately to land a takedown but Titan is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Moore.
Titan stalling the fight.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Titan.

Moore jumps guard and drags Titan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Moore is trying to control the position but Titan postures up.

Titan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Moore has his foot on Titan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Titan works his way back into a safe position though.

Moore is looking to stand up but Titan isn't so interested in that idea.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Moore looking to hit a scissor sweep but Titan is one step ahead there.

Moore is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Moore preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Titan throws a jab but it's blocked by Moore.
Titan cracks Moore with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Titan lands a nice looking body shot.
Titan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Titan missing with a left hand there. Moore was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Titan pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Moore throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Titan lands a jab to the head.
Moore takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Moore shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Titan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Titan missing with a left hand there. Moore was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Moore shoots and misses
and Titan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Moore is rocked!
Titan lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Moore is looking to close the distance but Titan sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Moore crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Moore is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
