Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bartek Pietrzak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escobar is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: KoRn En Vivo Mtv. On his way into the cage it seems that Bartek Pietrzak has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Bartek Pietrzak seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Bartek Pietrzak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pablo Escobar!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escobar misses with a jab to the body

and Pietrzak counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Escobar!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Escobar is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Escobar gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Escobar wants to improve his position but Pietrzak is controlling well.
Pietrzak takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Escobar is trying to maintain the position but Pietrzak is very close to passing his half guard.

Pietrzak looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Pietrzak is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Escobar sees it coming and defends easily.

Pietrzak drops back looking for a leg! Escobar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Escobar manages to kick Pietrzak off! Pietrzak jumps back into Escobar's guard.
Escobar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Bartek Pietrzak will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Escobar thuds his right hand into Pietrzak's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Escobar slips a straight right by Pietrzak.
Pietrzak throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Escobar sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pietrzak connects with a nice looking jab.

Escobar bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pietrzak's head backwards.

and Pietrzak counters with a head kick.
Escobar lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Pietrzak steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Escobar.
Escobar works Pietrzak's body with a nice hook.
Pietrzak swings for the body but Escobar moves out of range.
Escobar misses with a hook. Pietrzak ducked under it nicely.

Pietrzak avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Pietrzak checks the leg kick nicely there.
Escobar shoots in looking for a takedown. Pietrzak tries to sprawl out of it but Escobar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pietrzak manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pietrzak is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Escobar shoots for a double leg takedown but Pietrzak sprawls well. He's pushed Escobar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Escobar tries to bum rush Pietrzak with a series of wild strikes but Pietrzak uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice straight punches there by Pietrzak. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pietrzak.

Pietrzak drops Escobar with a big left hand! Escobar is injured, injured bad! Pietrzak jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

After winning the bout, Bartek Pietrzak thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
