Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacob Herman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Higgins!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higgins throws a half hearted mid kick.
Higgins clinches up against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Herman fails to land.
Higgins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Herman shoots for a takedown but Higgins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Herman takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Higgins throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Higgins displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Herman.
Higgins lands a nice looking body shot.
A head kick misses from Higgins.
Herman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacob Herman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Higgins is looking to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Higgins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Herman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Herman tries to improve position but can't.
Higgins is looking to take a break and control but Herman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Herman regains half guard.
Higgins looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Herman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Higgins is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Herman sees it coming and defends easily.
Higgins working over Herman with some ground and pound. Herman looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Higgins passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Herman!
Herman tries to hold on but Higgins postures up.
Herman is trying desperately to improve position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Higgins in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Higgins loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Herman scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Higgins land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Higgins stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alex Higgins!
