The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barreto shoots in but Nich avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nich looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Barreto tries to close the distance and clinch but Nich swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nich should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Barreto.
Nich will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nich shoots in for a takedown but Barreto shows good takedown defense.

Barreto has managed to clinch.
Nich swings wildly with an uppercut but Barreto uses good head movement to avoid it.

Barreto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nich keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
