Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hideya Kaayi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Daniels!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kaayi looking to score a takedown here. Daniels is defending well but Kaayi drives through and ends up in Daniels's guard.
Kaayi controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Kaayi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hideya Kaayi wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Daniels is looking to clinch but Kaayi is avoiding it.

Kaayi drives through and clinches with Daniels against the cage.
We've been informed that Daniels has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Daniels is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Kaayi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Daniels moves out of range as Kaayi throws a body kick.

Daniels lands a good knee to the midsection. Kaayi won't want to take too many of those.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Daniels has Kaayi pressed against the cage, preventing Kaayi from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A frustrated look appears on Kaayi's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Daniels lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Hideya Kaayi has been cut.
Kaayi using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Daniels has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Daniels tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Daniels has Kaayi pressed against the cage, preventing Kaayi from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Daniels is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kaayi is defending well for now.

Kaayi has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Daniels regains guard immediately.
We've been hearing that Kaayi has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Kaayi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Daniels works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kaayi slips nicely into half guard.

Kaayi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kaayi motions for Daniels to come forward. Kaayi throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A telegraphed right hand from Kaayi misses the target.

Kaayi shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Kaayi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Kaayi uses his free foot to push down on Daniels's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Daniels.

Kaayi with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Kaayi is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Daniels is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Daniels flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Kaayi anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Daniels and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Kaayi slips an arm under Daniels chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Kaayi has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Kaayi is squeezing on Daniels like an anaconda would it's prey. Daniels fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Hideya Kaayi!
