Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cory Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnnie Lao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steel's entrance music is Poison - Every Rose Has Its Thorn . A fine choice. Lao comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Drowning Pool - Let The Bodies Hit The Floor kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Steel as Lao shoots in.
Lao tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Steel swivels and escapes.
Steel loads up on a big right hand but Lao slips the punch.

Lao shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Steel as he avoids it easily.
Lao uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Steel.
A bone on bone clash there as Lao blocks the leg kick.
Steel throws the left hand but Lao avoids the punch easily.
Lao shoots in for a double leg but Steel sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

It looks like Johnnie Lao has been cut.
Steel tries to bum rush Lao with a series of wild strikes but Lao uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Steel clinches up with Lao and pushes him back against the cage.
Lao fails to pull guard.
Lao tries to pull guard but Steel holds him up against the cage and eventually Lao drops back down to his feet.

Lao jumps guard but Steel stands there with Lao around his waist. Lao gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Steel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Steel moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Steel is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Steel's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Lao looks gassed!

Steel thows a body shot but no joy.
Steel comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Nice shot lands for Steel.
Steel throws an uppercut from hell that sends Lao clean off his feet! He's out cold! Steel stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
