Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bertram Hurley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trafalgar Law (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurley closes the distance but Law moves to the side
and Hurley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Law shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hurley counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Law is looking for a sweep. Hurley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hurley scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Law makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Law.
Hurley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Law has Hurley pulled in close to control his posture.

Hurley won't allow Law to sweep him here.
Law wants to get back to his feet but Hurley is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Law has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hurley can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Law had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hurley defends it easily.

Law has one foot on Hurley's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Hurley tries to close the distance and clinch but Law swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Law throws a combination. Hurley tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Law changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hurley looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hurley is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Law asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Hurley tries to improve position but can't.
Law is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hurley is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Law has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Law is looking to take a break and control but Hurley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Law goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hurley has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Law but great work by Hurley.

That was a close round but I would say that Bertram Hurley will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Law is looking to clinch.
Law shoots in looking for a takedown but Hurley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Law's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Law tries a head kick but it misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Law throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hurley's waist but Hurley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Law off to one side.
Bertram Hurley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trafalgar Law.

Law drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hurley pulls his leg out and moves away.
Law is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Law is breathing heavily.
Law avoids the head kick by Hurley.
Hurley has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Law goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Hurley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Law paws at him with a jab and circles away.
No joy there for Hurley, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Law throws a sloppy head kick and Hurley moves out of range easily.

and Hurley counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Law's guard now.
Hurley wants to get up but he can't break Law's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hurley gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Hurley throws a head kick but Law moves out of range.
Law swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hurley moves into the clinch.
Law fails to pull guard.

Hurley gets control of Law's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hurley will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Hurley is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hurley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Law trying to control the position from guard on top but Hurley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Law postures up in Hurley's guard and throws a big left but Hurley blocks it.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Hurley manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Law wants to take the fight to the mat but Hurley manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Hurley tries to pull guard but Law holds him up against the cage and eventually Hurley drops back down to his feet.

Hurley is staying active underneath Law, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Law stops Hurley from getting back to his feet.
Hurley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Law blocks the strikes from Hurley.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Trafalgar Law.
Law tries to clinch up but Hurley circles away and keeps his distance.

Trafalgar Law seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Law takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hurley keeps the fight on the outside.

Hurley has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Law after a bit of a struggle.
