Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carol Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Costa Rino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carol Nash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Costa Rino!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rino pushes Nash up against the cage in a clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Nash jumps guard.
Nash pulls Rino in close to his closed guard and prevents Rino from doing any damage or advancing position.
Rino trying to control but Nash is working from the bottom.
Rino won't allow Nash to sweep him here.
Rino trying to control but Nash is working from the bottom.

Rino avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rino in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nash can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rino controls the pace.
Rino trying to control the position from guard on top but Nash is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Costa Rino.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nash looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Rino closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Nash keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rino's efforts to push away.
Rino lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Rino ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rino no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Nash could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Nash drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rino looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rino looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rino!

Rino stands up and beckons Nash to his feet.
Nash swats away the attempt to clinch by Rino.

Nash leaves Rino with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nash looks to land a body kick but Rino moved away.
Rino lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rino shoots for a double leg takedown but Nash sprawls well. He's pushed Rino's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rino tries to clinch up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rino tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nash paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rino tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nash sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rino somewhat.
Carol Nash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Costa Rino.
Nash attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Rino wants to clinch up but Nash keeps it at a distance.
Rino leaves Nash with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nash tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rino sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nash somewhat.

Nash throws out a leg kick but Rino moves out of range and Nash only half commits.

Nash displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rino.

Rino shoots in looking for a takedown but Nash manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rino's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Good work by Rino as he checks the leg kick.

Costa Rino dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Nash with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rino to score with a decent uppercut.


It looks like Carol Nash has been cut.
Nash misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rino looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Rino shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Nash counters by clinching up.
Nash is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rino to keep the fight standing.

Nash turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Nash manages to end up in side control.
Rino is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Nash is staying tight to Rino's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Nash gets to mount! Rino was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Rino wants to hold on but Nash pushes him away.
Rino is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rino is in a horrible position here. Nash smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Rino is bucking up trying to escape but Nash cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Nash lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Nash has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rino bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Rino must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Carol Nash overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nash is looking for a triangle but Rino pushes his legs off easily.
Nash has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Rino tries to free his leg and advance position but Nash is retaining full guard.
Nash wants to sweep here but Rino controlling him for the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Nash throws a sloppy head kick and Rino moves out of range easily.
An inside leg kick from Nash misses.
Rino will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rino closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Nash fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Nash swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Rino tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Nash counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Rino!
Rino tries to buck Nash off but Nash is having none of it.
Nash scores with punches from side control.

Rino strikes from the bottom but Nash takes advantage and advances to full mount!

Rino is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Nash pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Nash seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Rino is holding on tight.

Nash breaks from Rino's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Nash lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Rino hang on?

Nash lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Rino is trying to escape the mount.

Rino is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
