Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Flavio Sandoval (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Protacio Jawo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jawo has chosen Rusty Cage as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jawo tries to bum rush Sandoval with a series of wild strikes but Sandoval uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jose Protacio Jawo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

I was talking to Sandoval's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Sandoval lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Sandoval is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jawo.

Sandoval fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jawo manages to avoid it.

That was a close round but I would say that Flavio Sandoval will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sandoval lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jawo has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jawo and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
