The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers shoots in for a double leg but Soderstrom sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Soderstrom misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rogers shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Soderstrom as he jumps to the side.

A big head kick from Soderstrom and Rogers is sent sprawling to the canvas!

It looks like Marcus Rogers has been cut.
Rogers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Soderstrom's guard.

Soderstrom throws a shot from downtown. Rogers moves away and avoids it.
Magnus Soderstrom is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Soderstrom lunges at Rogers with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rogers's hand.

and Soderstrom counters with a left and a right that hurts Rogers! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Soderstrom jumps into full mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rogers is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Soderstrom is landing with some decent strikes but Rogers is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Soderstrom takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Soderstrom pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Soderstrom is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rogers is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Soderstrom takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Let's hope that Soderstrom has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Magnus Soderstrom just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rogers throws a hook but Soderstrom blocks it.
Rogers swings away with a body shot that misses
and Soderstrom counters with a body kick.
Rogers is breathing heavily.

Soderstrom throws a hook to the side of Rogers's head but Rogers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rogers uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Soderstrom.
Rogers moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Soderstrom dances in with a quick combination. Rogers is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Soderstrom snaps Rogers's head back. Rogers stumbles backwards against the cage. Soderstrom steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Rogers's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Rogers just didn't come prepared.
