PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Landon Gibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Starr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gibbs comes into the arena with Never Scared- Bonecrusher blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starr misses with the combination.
Gibbs stuffs the takedown.
No luck for Starr with that takedown attempt.
Gibbs misses with a few strikes there.
Starr shoots in and drives through. Gibbs sprawls well.
Landon Gibbs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Starr.
Starr shoots in but no luck this time.
Starr throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gibbs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Gibbs counters by clinching up.
Starr tries to score a body lock takedown but Gibbs shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Starr tries to break the clinch but Gibbs is controlling the position.
Gibbs goes for a takedown attempt but Starr pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gibbs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Gibbs decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Starr's guard.

Gibbs forces his way into half guard.

Gibbs in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Starr tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gibbs!
