The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko circles away from the clinch attempt
and Emelianenko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cross looks to throw the jab but Emelianenko is out of range.
Emelianenko stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Cross shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Emelianenko counters with a stiff right hand.
Cross walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Emelianenko cracks Cross with a right hand to the side of the head.
Cross with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Emelianenko to score with a decent uppercut.
Fedor Emelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cross looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Emelianenko connects with a body shot that sends Cross's belly button to the back.

Emelianenko feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Cross sprawling to the canvas! Cross rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Emelianenko finish him?!
Cross is rocked!
It looks like Wess Cross has been cut.

Emelianenko drops Cross with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Cross! Emelianenko dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
