Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, El Ka Bong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Colman!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ben Hemmingworth and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Colman's waist but Colman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bong off to one side.
Bong shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Colman but Colman pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Colman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Colman won't allow Bong to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Colman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Bong is looking for a sweep. Colman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bong could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bong is trying to maintain the position but Colman is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bong rushes Colman and presses him up against the cage.
Colman drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Bong manages to break the clinch.
Bong shoots for a double leg takedown but Colman sprawls well. He's pushed Bong's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Bong counters with a stiff right hand.

Bong tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Colman easily slips into full mount!

Bong keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bong tries to lock up and control but Colman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

El Ka Bong has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Colman feints and as Bong raises his hands in defense, Colman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bong is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

We're going to have a standup here because El Ka Bong wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Colman shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Colman throws a leg kick
and Bong counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Bong looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Bong moves into range and connects with a jab.
Bong scores with a head kick. Colman tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Bong scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Bong fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Colman controls from within his opponent's guard.
Mark Colman has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bong manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bong with a couple of short strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

El Ka Bong dominated that second round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Bong tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Colman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Colman.

Bong is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Colman asserts his dominance and retains side control.
A lull in the action here as Colman stalls from top position.

Bong manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Colman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Bong seems to be working for a kimura but Colman defends the submission attempt.

Bong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Colman keeps working.

Bong is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bong is keen to just control but Colman is a slippery customer.

Bong is stalling here. Colman is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bong seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Colman has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Colman doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Colman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

And that's the end of the fight!
El Ka Bong showed his dominance in that final round.
