These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adam Kanapka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Kelsey Curtis!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curtis shoots for a takedown but Kanapka saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kanapka has taken the fight to the clinch.
Curtis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kanapka just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kanapka breaks from the clinch.

Curtis looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kanapka!
Kanapka can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Curtis controlling from side mount.
Curtis is working Kanapka over with some ground and pound from side control.

Curtis has hold of Kanapka's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kanapka seems comfortable defending it but Curtis has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kanapka is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kanapka is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Curtis couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kelsey Curtis!
Kelsey Curtis decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
