The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfonte shoots in for a double leg but McGee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
No luck for Belfonte with that takedown attempt.

McGee rushes Belfonte and presses him up against the ropes.

McGee drags the fight down to the ground.
McGee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Belfonte lands a couple of elbows.
Belfonte trying to stand up but can't free himself from McGee's guard.
Belfonte keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McGee's head.

McGee has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Belfonte can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McGee is trying to control the position but Belfonte postures up.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
McGee manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
McGee can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Belfonte is looking to escape.

McGee is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Belfonte is surviving well by controlling McGee's body position as best he can.

McGee is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Belfonte has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Belfonte is squirming around, avoiding McGee's attempts to control the action.
Belfonte on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Belfonte tries to get out of the position.
McGee prevents Belfonte from getting the reversal.

McGee is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! McGee extends the arm and Belfonte is forced to tap!
