Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between San Lucas Mussolini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Pace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mussolini comes to the cage accompanied by You gonna git bombed. Mark Pace has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Mussolini.

It looks like Mark Pace has been cut.
Pace fails with a takedown attempt.
Mussolini stuffs the takedown attempt from Pace. Pace gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pace tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
San Lucas Mussolini seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

so Pace counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Pace preventing the sweep.
Mussolini is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pace is controlling him.
Mussolini keeping full guard, as Pace tries to pass.
Pace not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mussolini is trying to keep Pace in close.
Pace trying to control the position from guard on top but Mussolini is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mussolini will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

and Pace counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Mussolini tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pace wants to control from the top but Mussolini keeps moving.
Mussolini wants to sweep but no luck.
Mussolini has momentary wrist control but Pace slips an elbow through the middle.
Mussolini throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
Pace trying to control but Mussolini is working from the bottom.
Mussolini is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pace stopping the sweep attempt from Mussolini.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mussolini tries to clinch but Pace is having none of it.

Pace takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Pace changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mussolini tries to avoid it but Pace manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mussolini to the ground. Mussolini escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
San Lucas Mussolini has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Pace.
No luck for Pace with that takedown attempt.

and Pace counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mussolini wants to control but Pace is keeping busy.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mussolini makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mussolini.

Pace drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mussolini manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pace has Mussolini in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that San Lucas Mussolini will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Mark Pace's cut.

Pace takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Mussolini throws a head kick that Pace semi-blocks.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mussolini lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Pace is looking to close the distance but Mussolini sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Pace crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Pace is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
