Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tolek Banan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, George Bush!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banan misses the jab.
Banan misses with a head kick.
We've been told by Banan's head coaches at IMMA Gym of ASS that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Banan cracks Bush with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Bush tries for a takedown but Banan circles away easily
and Banan counters with a nice leg kick.
Bush misses with a takedown attempt - Banan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Banan listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Banan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tolek Banan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bush drives through with a takedown into Banan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Bush missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Banan has Bush pulled in close to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bush throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Banan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bush is fighting to break Banan's control of his arms but Banan is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

We're going to have a standup here because Tolek Banan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Banan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Banan scores with a jab.

Banan shoots in and bounces Bush off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Bush trying to control the position.
Bush looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bush throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Bush really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Banan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bush is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Bush throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bush bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Banan's guard.
Bush stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Banan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Banan is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Bush trying to control but Banan is working from the bottom.
Bush must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Banan seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Banan takes a swing at Bush's ribcage but misses.
Banan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Banan misses the shot to the body.

Banan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bush can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bush is looking to sweep but instead, Banan has passed into half guard.
Bush flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Banan is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bush!
Banan cracks Bush with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Banan working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Bush turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Banan off and cradles Bush's limp body as Banan celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Tolek Banan!

A very excited looking Tolek Banan made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
