The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts lands a nice hook to Batista's body. Batista takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Batista takes one to the chin there.
Roberts lands a jab to Batista's midsection.
Batista avoids a punch combination nicely.

Roberts closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Roberts lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Batista or not.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Roberts lands a hook that snaps the head of Batista backwards.
Roberts tries to break the clinch but Batista is controlling the position.
Roberts misses with a punch to the body.
Roberts lands with a short punch from the clinch.

It looks like Joao Batista has been cut.
Batista displaying some good clinch control by pressing Roberts up against the cage.
We've been informed that Roberts has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Roberts tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Batista avoids it.

Roberts is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Batista is defending well for now.
Batista pushes off an throws an elbow but Roberts leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Roberts breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Batista takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Roberts ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
OH! Batista has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Roberts smells blood and charges in for the finish! Roberts unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Batista sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
