And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul McKilly!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McKilly circles away quickly and effectively.
Diaz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Diaz wants to clinch
and McKilly counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz throws a left and a right that both miss
and Diaz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Diaz falls off balance throwing a combination
and McKilly counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Diaz fails in his attempt to clinch.
Diaz throws a series of punches but McKilly moves out of range.
Diaz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Diaz tries to clinch up but McKilly circles away and keeps his distance.
Diaz misses with a series of wild punches.

Diaz throws a sloppy head kick and McKilly moves out of range easily.

Diaz tries to bum rush McKilly with a series of wild strikes but McKilly uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McKilly throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McKilly misses the jab.
Diaz swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McKilly counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
McKilly dodges the punch combination from Diaz.
Diaz misses with a two punch combination.
The fight stays on the outside here - McKilly looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Diaz throws a nice looking combination but McKilly bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
McKilly is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Diaz falls off balance throwing a combination
and McKilly counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


Diaz is rocked!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

McKilly instigates a clinch.
Diaz tries to circle away but McKilly has him pinned against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for McKilly.
McKilly wants to break free but Diaz has control.

McKilly escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McKilly throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McKilly wants to clinch.
Diaz misses with a double jab.
McKilly tries to clinch up.
McKilly throws a jab but it's blocked by Diaz.
Some wild striking there from Diaz.
Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Diaz tries to bum rush McKilly with a series of wild strikes but McKilly uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Diaz throws a series of punches but McKilly avoids them all with ease.
Diaz throws a right and a left that both miss.
Some wild striking there from Diaz.

McKilly cracks Diaz with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Diaz looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can McKilly finish him?
Oh Diaz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!


It looks like Nick Diaz has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Diaz throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and McKilly counters with a big left hand that crumples Diaz! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Paul McKilly!
After winning the bout, Paul McKilly thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
