Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kareem al Rashid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amun Ra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). al Rashid comes into the arena with Highlight Reel blaring out of the sound system. Amun Ra acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Kareem al Rashid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Amun Ra!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
al Rashid swings widly with a right hand

and Ra counters with a single leg into guard. al Rashid didn't expect that.
Ra preventing the sweep.
Ra throws a big right hand that misses.
al Rashid is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
al Rashid keeping moving, preventing Ra from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

al Rashid looking for a guillotine here but Ra defends easily.
Ra wants to pass the guard but al Rashid is keeping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ra stopping the sweep attempt from al Rashid.
Ra scoring with punches to the head and body.
Ra throws a big right hand that misses.

al Rashid looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ra is looking to pass into half guard but al Rashid pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now al Rashid is in guard.
Ra is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ra is pulling down on al Rashid's head. It's preventing any offense from al Rashid, at least for the moment.
al Rashid stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ra swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
al Rashid trying to control but Ra is working from the bottom.
Ra looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ra fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ra avoids the head kick by al Rashid.
Ra misses with a jab, cross combination.
al Rashid swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Ra counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ra won't allow al Rashid to get back to his feet.
al Rashid avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ra throwing strikes but missing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ra throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as al Rashid works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ra stopping the sweep attempt from al Rashid.
Ra lands a couple of digs.
Ra wants to control from the top but al Rashid keeps moving.
Ra preventing the sweep.
Ra looking to pass the guard.
al Rashid tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ra pushes down on al Rashid's leg and manages to get into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
al Rashid is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
al Rashid tries to roll over but Ra keeps him under control.

al Rashid kicks off Ra and gets to his feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from al Rashid. Ra does a little dance to reset his feet.
al Rashid takes a shot to the body in his stride.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ra.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ra connects with the punch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
al Rashid slaps away a takedown attempt from Ra, before circling back to the center of the mat.
al Rashid goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Amun Ra dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Ra throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
al Rashid misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ra shoots in and drives through. al Rashid sprawls well.
Ra is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by al Rashid.
al Rashid throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
al Rashid motions for Ra to come forward. al Rashid throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ra keeps the fight on the outside.
Ra scores with a hook.


al Rashid is rocked!
al Rashid is holding his hands too far apart here. Ra throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! al Rashid is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Amun Ra!
