Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carter gets a clinch.
Howard creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Carter's defenses.

It looks like Carl Carter has been cut.
Carter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Howard fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Howard tries a head kick but it misses.

Howard closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Carter gets caught flat footed, as Howard shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Howard has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Carter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Howard manages to get himself to full guard.

Howard throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Carter escapes and throws Howard's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Carter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Howard keeps working.

Carter moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Howard has worked his arm free - good work by Howard!
Howard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Howard manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Howard is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Howard seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
