PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Casy Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Sajdak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carver comes to the cage accompanied by It's my life. Sajdak has chosen Thrift Shop as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Joe Sajdak looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Casy Carver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Sajdak!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sajdak throws a right and a left that Carver avoids nicely.
Joe Sajdak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sajdak misses with a few strikes there.
Carver shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sajdak sprawls well. Sajdak wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carver gets slowly back to his feet.
Sloppy strikes from Sajdak. Those never looked like landing.
Carver shoots in for a double leg but Sajdak sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sajdak throws a left and a right that both miss
and Carver counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Carver moves into the clinch successfully.

Carver gets control of Sajdak's arms and successfully pulls guard. Carver will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Carver wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carver is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Soul Supremacy Elite Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Carver lands a good knee to the midsection. Sajdak won't want to take too many of those.

It looks like Joe Sajdak has been cut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sajdak wants to get up but he can't break Carver's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Sajdak looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carver is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sajdak.
Carver really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sajdak.

and Carver counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Carver.

Sajdak is looking to break free of the clinch but Carver has double underhooks.

Carver ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Carver no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Carver is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sajdak can't fight it off and eventually Carver manages to take the fight to the floor. Sajdak looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Casy Carver is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Sajdak is trying to force a seperation but Carver has the dominant position.
Sajdak wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Carver has him pressed against the cage.
Carver prevents Sajdak from breaking the clinch.
Carver misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Sajdak has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Well Carver has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
