Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masa Mama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mama has chosen Cowboys From Hell as his entrance music. Masa Mama acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos shoots and misses
and Mama counters with a two punch combo.

Santos forces Mama back against the cage and clinches.

Mama has Santos pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mama pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Santos tumbling to the mat - Mama dives into Santos's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Mama controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Santos is looking to sweep but instead, Mama has passed into half guard.

Mama is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Santos sees it coming and defends easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gustavo Santos has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Santos shoots in looking for a takedown. Mama tries to sprawl out of it but Santos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mama manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Santos.

Santos shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mama pinned against the cage. Mama gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Mama drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Mama is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Santos's shoulder. That is not cool.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santos is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Mama postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Santos is looking for a sweep.

Masa Mama dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Santos has his takedown stuffed
and Mama cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mama should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

and Mama counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Santos's guard now.
Mama stays in close to Santos's body and controls the position.
Santos is trying to keep Mama in close.
Masa Mama has got the better of the ground game so far.

Santos is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mama is aware though and is defending well.
Mama not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Santos throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mama escapes and throws Santos's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Mama tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Mama content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Mama wants to lay and pray for a moment but Santos keeps working.
Santos wants to improve his position but Mama is controlling well.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Masa Mama was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Santos has his takedown stuffed

so Mama counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Mama is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Santos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mama doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mama manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Santos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mama's guard.
Mama is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mama throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Santos's waist but Santos gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mama off to one side.
Mama stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mama wants it to stay on the feet.

Mama closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Santos to the mat! Santos manages to get full guard.

Mama is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Santos pushes a forearm under Mama's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Mama is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

After the fight, Gustavo Santos was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
