Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joshua Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Price!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Price's head.
Price looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Price manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Perez on his heels. He'll look to pass Perez's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Price throws a big right hand that misses.
Price trying to control the position from guard on top but Perez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Perez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Price gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Perez wants to sweep here but Price controlling him for the moment.

Perez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Price drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Price jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Price trying to control the position from guard on top but Perez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Price drops back, looking for a kneebar! Perez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Perez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Perez!
You can see the frustration on Price's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Perez looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Price is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Perez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Perez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Perez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Price, who protects the arm well.
Price tries to improve position but can't.

Perez is trying to get an arm triangle but Price is defending well.
Price tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Perez presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Price working to try and regain half guard.
Price is still trying to improve position.

Perez looking for a guillotine from mount but Price is having none of it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Price is desperately trying to improve his position but Perez has a good base and remains in mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Perez looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Price keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Price is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Perez has taken his back!
Perez doesn't have the hooks in and Price manages to turn into his guard.
Price wants to get up but he can't break Perez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Perez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Price is one step ahead there.
Price wants to control from the top but Perez keeps moving.
Perez keeping full guard, as Price tries to pass.

Price is posturing up here but Perez has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Price tries to roll out but it's too tight and Price has to tap! Slick submission there by Perez!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Joshua Perez!
Joshua Perez really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Alpha-Male Nutritional Supplements (q160) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
