Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Cardenas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Cardenas has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Cardenas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Stark!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cardenas tries to keep at a distance but Stark has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cardenas is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Stark gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Cardenas has Stark pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stark manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Cardenas tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Stark lands a takedown into guard.

Cardenas working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Stark has passed into half guard!
Stark looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Stark is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cardenas wants to improve his position but Stark is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Stark is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cardenas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stark.
Stark throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Stark is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Stark wants to take a breather but Cardenas is having none of it.

Stark postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Cardenas to stand up.
Stark misses with a head kick.

Stark has managed to clinch.

Stark pulls guard effortlessly.
Cardenas with a flurry of punches that miss.
Stark trying to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stark is pulling down on Cardenas's head to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Stark had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cardenas defends it easily.
Cardenas wanted to stand there but Stark had control of the position.
Stark wants to control but Cardenas passes easily into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cardenas throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Cardenas is keen to just control but Stark is a slippery customer.
Stark trying to control from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stark misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Nice strikes from Cardenas there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Stark dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Stark gets the takedown into side control.
Stark lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Stark working away.
Cardenas misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Stark sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cardenas is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Cardenas is pushing Stark's head away, looking to escape. Stark manages to hold on to the position though.

Stark goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cardenas rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Stark's guard! Nice work there by Cardenas!
Stark is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stark looking to control but Cardenas passes into half guard.
Stark trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Stark is trying to escape the mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stark can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cardenas avoids the attempt from Stark to control.
Stark might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cardenas haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Cardenas swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Stark is now in Cardenas's guard. A big mistake from Cardenas there, giving up the dominant position!
Cardenas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Stark would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tony Stark was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Stark fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cardenas sprawls well initially but Stark persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Stark is trying to control. Cardenas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Stark trying to advance position but Cardenas counters by regaining guard.
Stark stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cardenas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Stark content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Cardenas has locked up a guillotine! Cardenas's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Stark is holding on here and Cardenas must be using up a lot of energy. Stark has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Cardenas gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ryan Cardenas!
