PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matti Kuusela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and MAX CONDOR (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). CONDOR has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuusela tries to close the distance and clinch up but CONDOR swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kuusela gets the takedown into side control.

Kuusela tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kuusela has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kuusela advances nicely into full mount.
Kuusela is landing with some decent strikes but CONDOR is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Kuusela takes CONDOR's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, CONDOR is in trouble.
CONDOR looks gassed!
Kuusela gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Kuusela is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Kuusela gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Kuusela gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Kuusela apologises and we restart here on the feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kuusela feints and as CONDOR raises his hands in defense, Kuusela changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kuusela sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed CONDOR's guard.

Kuusela escapes and gets back to his feet.
CONDOR slips a jab and a cross from Kuusela.

Kuusela feints and as CONDOR raises his hands in defense, Kuusela changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kuusela drops back looking for a leg! CONDOR is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and CONDOR manages to kick Kuusela off! Kuusela jumps back into CONDOR's guard.

Kuusela drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kuusela jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kuusela has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can CONDOR defend it? Kuusela steps over the head and cranks it - CONDOR is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Kuusela!
