Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emil Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Olala Mimi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Olala Mimi will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Emil Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Olala Mimi!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mimi is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ellis's half guard.
Mimi controlling the action here.
Mimi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ellis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Mimi looking for a submission but Ellis manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

Ellis is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Mimi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ellis is on top in guard.

Mimi has his foot on Ellis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ellis works his way back into a safe position though.
Ellis really is a fat lump.
Mimi tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mimi keeps trying to improve his position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mimi looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Ellis looking to sit in guard and control but Mimi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ellis keeping full guard, as Mimi tries to pass.

Mimi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ellis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mimi has managed to get both his arms back between Ellis's legs - danger averted.
Mimi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mimi trying to control but Ellis is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Olala Mimi was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Mimi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ellis wants to improve his position but Mimi is controlling well.
Ellis pushes Mimi off looking to stand but Mimi dives back in and keeps control.
Mimi seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ellis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mimi pulls his head out easily.
Ellis is breathing heavily.
Mimi looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Mimi is taking a breather. Ellis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Let's hope that Mimi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like Mimi might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Olala Mimi wasn't active enough on the ground.

Mimi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ellis!
Ellis pushes Mimi away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mimi gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Ellis is trying to escape the position but Mimi is controlling the position.
Mimi cracks Ellis with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Ellis is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ellis takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Ellis seems a little lost for a moment, as Mimi dominates the positioning.
Mimi tries to advance to mount but Ellis denies him.
Mimi controlling from side mount.
Mimi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mimi looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Mimi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Mimi works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Ellis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mimi pulls his head out easily.
Mimi moves into full mount! Ellis won't be happy about that!
Mimi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The referee warns Ellis that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Mimi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Ellis squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mimi lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Mimi lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Mimi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ellis has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Mimi controlling the pace for now.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Ellis regains half guard.

Mimi working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Mimi is controlling the pace.
Mimi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ellis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Olala Mimi was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Ellis seems a little lost for a moment, as Mimi dominates the positioning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ellis is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mimi asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Mimi working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Mimi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mimi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Ellis is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Mimi looks up at the clock and then as Ellis takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mimi smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Mimi is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ellis on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Ellis takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Mimi in side control lands a decent elbow.

Mimi tries for a kimura but Ellis is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Olala Mimi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Ellis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Mimi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Mimi tries to keep at a distance but Ellis has taken the fight into the clinch.

Mimi jumps into guard, dragging Ellis to the mat.
Mimi thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ellis trying to control the position from guard on top but Mimi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Mimi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mimi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mimi wants to stand but Ellis is controlling the position.

Mimi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ellis's guard.
Mimi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

No joy there for Ellis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mimi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mimi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Olala Mimi has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Ellis closes the distance and pushes Mimi back into the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Ellis's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Ellis is trying to break the clinch but Mimi has him pressed against the cage.

Mimi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ellis fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Olala Mimi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
