Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Shimazu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Hara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hara is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Who - Eminence front. Josh Hara acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, William Shimazu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Hara!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimazu throws a hook to the side of Hara's head but Hara sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Shimazu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hara manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Shimazu moves to clinch but Hara breaks away
and Hara cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hara tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shimazu defends well and Hara ends up having to push Shimazu into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Hara goes for a takedown in the clinch but Shimazu prevents it.
Shimazu misses with a knee to the head.
Shimazu throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hara blocks it with crossed arms.

Shimazu has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Shimazu misses with an elbow strike.
Shimazu lands a right hand that snaps the head of Hara backwards.
Shimazu misses with a short punch on the inside.
Shimazu looking to throw knees to the head but Hara is blocking nicely.

Hara has clasped his hands together around Shimazu's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Hara tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Hara works to advance to full mount. Shimazu defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Hara won't let Shimazu get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Hara goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Shimazu is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shimazu wants to control from the top but Hara keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hara is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hara trying to keep a closed guard but Shimazu is proving a slippery customer.

Shimazu passes Hara's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hara wants to improve his position but Shimazu is controlling well.
Hara is trying to maintain the position but Shimazu is very close to passing his half guard.
Hara slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Shimazu postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Hara escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shimazu gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Shimazu tries to free his leg and advance position but Hara is retaining full guard.

Hara has his foot on Shimazu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shimazu works his way back into a safe position though.
Shimazu pushes down on Hara's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shimazu wants to work for an arm triangle but Hara is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hara is pressing down on Shimazu's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Hara has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Shimazu is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hara.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hara tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shimazu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Shimazu is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hara knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Josh Hara will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hara swats away the attempt to clinch by Shimazu.
Shimazu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Hara goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Shimazu rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hara's guard! Nice work there by Shimazu!
Hara is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Shimazu avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Hara has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shimazu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shimazu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hara has escaped the position, nice work there.
