Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Felix Dagenais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Bags (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Felix Dagenais!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Bags!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dagenais tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bags swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bags looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Dagenais closes the distance but Bags moves to the side

and Bags holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Dagenais is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bags is defending well for now.
Bags drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dagenais gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Dagenais taking a breather.
Our sources have told us that Dagenais has been working on his elbows in the gym.
Dagenais misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Bags.
Bags gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Dagenais.
Dagenais stalling in the clinch but Bags improves position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bags slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Bags throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Dagenais throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Felix Dagenais seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dagenais looks for the body kick but Bags saw that one coming.

Felix Dagenais overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bags has Dagenais pulled in close to control his posture.
Dagenais trying to control but Bags is working from the bottom.

Bags has his foot on Dagenais's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dagenais works his way back into a safe position though.
Dagenais would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Dagenais got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bags has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dagenais has managed to get both his arms back between Bags's legs - danger averted.

Bags is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bags escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dagenais gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bags seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Bags manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bags tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bags misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Bags throws some wild stikes that Dagenais manages to avoid easily.
Bags wants to control the pace but Dagenais is squirming around nicely.

Bags sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Poor strikes thrown by Bags there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Bags has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Let's hope that Bags has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Felix Dagenais decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
The defeated Joe Bags had this to say: 'I'll be back!'.
