Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mason Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Richard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richard gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Marshall counters with a takedown into side control.

Marshall got a little sloppy there for a moment and Richard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Marshall has managed to get both his arms back between Richard's legs - danger averted.

Marshall seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Richard for as long as he can get away with.

and Marshall holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
