Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ronaldo Asiniho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hamish Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamish Gunn is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ronaldo Asiniho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hamish Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asiniho misses with a takedown attempt

and Gunn counters by clinching up.

Gunn ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gunn no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gunn managing to control the position.
Asiniho might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Asiniho wants to control from the top but Gunn keeps moving.

Gunn controls Asiniho momentarily but Asiniho frees himself.

Our spies down at at Iron Fist Training inform us that Gunn has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gunn connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Asiniho moves in looking to clinch but Gunn pushes him off.

Asiniho tries to sprawl but Gunn drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Asiniho is trying to maintain the position but Gunn is very close to passing his half guard.

Gunn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Asiniho is looking for a sweep. Gunn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gunn looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Hamish Gunn.
Asiniho fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gunn avoids it really well and circles away.

Gunn forces Asiniho back against the cage and clinches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Asiniho is trying to push Gunn away but Gunn has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Gunn tries to land knees in the clinch but Asiniho avoids the damage to the body.
Gunn lands with a left to the head.

Asiniho wants to pass the guard but Gunn is keeping the position.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Asiniho wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gunn keeps working.

Asiniho looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gunn is fending him off so far but Asiniho persists. Nope, Gunn circles away and we're back to standing.

Gunn decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Asiniho wants to get back to his feet.
Gunn is looking to take a break and control but Asiniho is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gunn perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Hamish Gunn wasn't active enough on the ground.
Asiniho wants to clinch but Gunn slips to the side

and Gunn counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gunn.

Gunn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Gunn has managed to clinch.

Asiniho jumps guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Asiniho is not content to let Gunn control the position.
Asiniho tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Gunn has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Asiniho is trying to stand.
Asiniho sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Gunn takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hamish Gunn was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Gunn holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Gunn has Asiniho pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gunn pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Asiniho tumbling to the mat - Gunn dives into Asiniho's guard.

Hamish Gunn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gunn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gunn controls Asiniho momentarily but Asiniho frees himself.
Asiniho tries to stand but Gunn is controlling from the bottom.

Gunn bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Asiniho's guard.

Gunn's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Gunn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Asiniho is keeping the position for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Hamish Gunn.
Asiniho doesn't manage to clinch there - Gunn circles away.

Gunn closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Gunn gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Asiniho regains guard.
Gunn wants to pass the guard but Asiniho is keeping the position.

Asiniho is pulling down on Gunn's head. It's preventing any offense from Gunn, at least for the moment.
Gunn chips away with some ground and pound.
Gunn wants to control from the top but Asiniho keeps moving.

This has been an exciting period of action!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hamish Gunn hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Gunn throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Asiniho manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gunn on his heels. He'll look to pass Gunn's guard now, I'm sure.
