PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stone Cold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Torben Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cold comes to the cage accompanied by Stone Cold Steve Austin Theme. Torben Hansen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen looks to land a combination but Cold avoids it well.
Hansen works over Cold's head and body with a nice combination.

Hansen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Cold is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hansen pulls his head out easily.
Cold missing with punches from the bottom.

Cold won't allow Hansen to pass to mount.
Cold is looking to control Hansen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cold avoid being mounted?
Cold flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hansen is thwarting Cold's attempts to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Stone Cold just wasn't active enough.
Hansen lunges at Cold with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Cold's hand.

Hansen works to advance to full mount. Cold defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Hansen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Cold is working to get back to half guard.
Cold wants to hold on but Hansen pushes him away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Torben Hansen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Hansen pushes Cold up against the cage in a clinch.

Hansen closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cold's guard.
Cold wants to control the position but Hansen says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hansen is standing up over Cold. Cold looks to escape but Hansen dives into side control.

Let's hope that Hansen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Cold is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hansen has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Torben Hansen wasn't active enough on the ground.

Hansen closes the distance and clinches.

Hansen works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Cold really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Torben Hansen hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cold fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hansen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cold wants to get back to his feet but Hansen is dominant here and he's now got Cold's back!
Hansen is riding his opponent, not letting Cold buck him off.
Cold just trying to survive but Hansen is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Hansen has good solid back control here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's time! Cold's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Cold misses with a body punch
and Hansen counters with a two punch combo.
Hansen Rushes Cold and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Cold is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Hansen Piles on the pressure and Cold crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
