Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jared Mcconnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike BossMan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike BossMan will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jared Mcconnell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike BossMan!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
BossMan darts in looking for a takedown but Mcconnell gets double underhooks and turns BossMan into the cage.
Mcconnell lands a good knee to the midsection. BossMan won't want to take too many of those.
Mcconnell tries to pull guard but BossMan won't allow it.
Mcconnell is trying to pull guard but BossMan turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Mcconnell works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcconnell trying to control but BossMan is working from the bottom.
Mcconnell is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because BossMan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
BossMan is pulling down on Mcconnell's head to control his posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jared Mcconnell just wasn't active enough.
BossMan tries a head kick but it misses.
Mcconnell really is a fat lump.

Mcconnell steps to the side to avoid the strikes from BossMan.

BossMan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mcconnell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mcconnell is looking to regain half guard here but BossMan keeps moving and retains side control.

Mcconnell is trying to escape the position but BossMan is controlling the position.

Mcconnell takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
BossMan grinds an elbow into Mcconnell's temple.
This has been an exciting period of action!

BossMan looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
BossMan wants to stand but Mcconnell is controlling his arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mcconnell manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
BossMan is positioning himself well to prevent Mcconnell advancing to mount.

Mcconnell is working for a submission of some sort.

Mcconnell is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
BossMan is looking to control Mcconnell's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can BossMan avoid being mounted?

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
BossMan is looking to improve his position.
BossMan works his way to full guard. Good work.
BossMan is trying to control the position but Mcconnell postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
BossMan is adopting a defensive guard.
BossMan throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Mcconnell shoots and misses

and BossMan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mcconnell's guard.

Mcconnell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. BossMan defends it easily.
BossMan pushes down on Mcconnell's leg and manages to get into half guard.
BossMan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
It looks like BossMan is going to stand back up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. BossMan connects with a nice short shot to Mcconnell's temple.
Well, if BossMan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
BossMan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mcconnell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike BossMan was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Mcconnell walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. BossMan checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

BossMan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mcconnell!

BossMan is staying tight to Mcconnell's torso, preventing him from escaping.

BossMan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mcconnell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
BossMan is putting a hurting on Mcconnell here, landing some big shots from side control.

BossMan controls the position.
Mcconnell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mcconnell gets back to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mcconnell manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
BossMan content to stall in guard here.

Mike BossMan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


BossMan goes for a double leg but Mcconnell avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mcconnell continues to drive forward.
Mcconnell jumps guard but BossMan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
BossMan changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mcconnell fights it off and pushes away nicely.
BossMan throws a head kick but Mcconnell moves out of range.
BossMan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mcconnell counters with a big head kick but BossMan shrugs it off.
Jared Mcconnell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike BossMan.

Mcconnell tries to keep at a distance but BossMan has taken the fight into the clinch.

Mcconnell drops to a knee looking for a takedown but BossMan gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Nice takedown defense from Mcconnell. No joy for BossMan on that attempt.
BossMan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
BossMan misses with a few strikes there.
Mike BossMan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mcconnell has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. BossMan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

BossMan is nestled in close to Mcconnell, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Mike BossMan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
