Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Duffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacque Tequila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacque Tequila has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Santiago Duffy's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Santiago Duffy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacque Tequila!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tequila tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Duffy defends well and Tequila ends up having to push Duffy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Tequila's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tequila shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Duffy as he jumps to the side.
A combination from Tequila does no damage.
Jacque Tequila seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tequila has taken the fight to the clinch.
Tequila is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Duffy to keep the fight standing.
Santiago Duffy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacque Tequila.
Tequila goes for a takedown in the clinch but Duffy prevents it.
Duffy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Duffy tries to stall but Tequila uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Tequila misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tequila tries to close the distance and clinch but Duffy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tequila goes for a double leg but Duffy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Duffy continues to drive forward.

Duffy is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Tequila jumps guard but Duffy turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Duffy is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Duffy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tequila has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Duffy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Duffy wanted to stand there but Tequila had control of the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jacque Tequila hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Tequila tries to clinch up but Duffy circles away and keeps his distance.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Duffy shoots in looking for a takedown but Tequila manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Duffy's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jacque Tequila will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Tequila shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tequila slaps away a takedown attempt from Duffy, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tequila will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Jacque Tequila is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Duffy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Duffy lands a nice short elbow.

Tequila manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Tequila, under a barage of strikes from Duffy.

Tequila wants to clinch up but Duffy keeps it at a distance.

Duffy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tequila tries to avoid it but Duffy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tequila to the ground. Tequila escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Tequila.
Tequila rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Duffy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Duffy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tequila tries to avoid it but Duffy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tequila to the ground. Tequila escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Tequila shoots in for a takedown but Duffy shows good takedown defense.

Tequila walks forward, straight into a front kick from Duffy.
Duffy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jab, jab by Tequila - just one landing.
Duffy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tequila swivels and escapes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Duffy closes the distance and clinches up with Tequila, looking for a takedown. Duffy pushes Tequila against the cage but Tequila circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tequila will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jacque Tequila will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Tequila throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Duffy's waist but Duffy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tequila off to one side.
Tequila shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Duffy but Duffy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Duffy dives in for a single leg takedown but Tequila sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Duffy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tequila but Tequila pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Duffy counters with a single leg into guard. Tequila didn't expect that.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Duffy throws an elbow that misses. Tequila uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Duffy's guard. Nice move by Tequila!

Tequila drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tequila jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Tequila passes into half guard.
Duffy is controlling Tequila's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Duffy is trying to stand.
Well, if Tequila is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Duffy is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tequila looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Duffy is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Tequila is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Duffy gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Duffy goes for a double leg but Tequila avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tequila continues to drive forward.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jacque Tequila is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Jacque Tequila.
I've got Tequila winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
