Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Franz Piil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Merlin Yar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Franz Piil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Merlin Yar!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Piil shoots in and bounces Yar off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Piil wants to control from the top but Yar keeps moving.
Piil stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Piil drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Piil jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Piil trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Yar manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Piil is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Piil lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yar!
Piil is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Yar can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Yar tries to lock up and control but Piil gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Piil trying to control but he's not successful this time.
We've been hearing that Piil has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Piil working for a guillotine from mount but Yar is in no mood to give up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Piil looking to control but Yar is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Piil. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We're going to have a standup here because Franz Piil wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Piil doesn't manage to clinch there - Yar circles away.

Piil shoots in and bounces Yar off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Piil might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Piil passes Yar's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Piil has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Yar defend it? Piil steps over the head and cranks it - Yar is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Piil!
