The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rue tries to clinch there but Huxi circles away.
Huxi lands a nice looking body shot.
Rue tries to close the distance and clinch up but Huxi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

No joy there for Huxi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Huxi tries to land a front kick but Rue steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Rue throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Huxi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Huxi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rue wants to clinch up but Huxi keeps it at a distance.
Rue is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Huxi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Huxi stalks Rue and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rue's face. Rue staggers backwards, shaken.

Huxi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rue moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Huxi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
