Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Oliver Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Jacks!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jacks bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Williams tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sloppy strikes there by Jacks.
Williams is trying to improve his position.
Jacks moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jacks works to advance to full mount. Williams defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Williams tries to reverse the position but Jacks maintains control.
Williams is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Williams tries to get back to half guard but can't.
You get the feeling that Williams really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Williams tries to reverse the position but Jacks maintains control.
Williams tries to lock up and control but Jacks gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Jacks controlling the pace for now.

Williams tries to hold on but Jacks postures up.
Jacks trying to control but Williams is having none of it.

Jacks decides to stand up.
Jacks dives in and grabs Williams's left leg, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes down on Jacks's head and hops out.
Oliver Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Jacks. No joy for Williams on that attempt.
A low kick from Williams is predictable there
and Jacks counters with a two punch combo.
Williams slaps away a takedown attempt from Jacks, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Jacks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Williams is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Williams is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jacks defends well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Williams looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jacks working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Williams keeping moving, preventing Jacks from controlling successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jacks wants to get up but he can't break Williams's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Williams takes the fight into the clinch.

Jacks is looking to clinch but Williams is avoiding it.

Williams wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Jacks tries to land knees in the clinch but Williams avoids the damage to the body.

Jacks breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jacks slaps away a takedown attempt from Williams, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Jacks or perhaps it was just good defense by Williams which made him look bad.

Jacks dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jacks pushes Williams away with a front kick.
Williams leaves Jacks with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jacks fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jacks shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Oliver Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Jacks.

Jacks moves into the clinch.

Williams pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Williams defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jacks.

Jacks shoots in looking for a takedown but Williams manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jacks's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Williams closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jacks jumps guard but Williams stands there with Jacks around his waist. Jacks gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Williams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jacks shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Williams sprawls well. Williams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jacks gets slowly back to his feet.
Jacks is breathing heavily.
Jacks fails in his attempt to clinch.
Williams shoots in for a takedown but Jacks shows good takedown defense.
Williams throws a head kick that half lands.

Williams is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jacks's half guard.
Jacks flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Max Jacks has got the better of the ground game so far.
Williams throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Williams is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Jacks moves into full guard.

Williams missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Williams pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jacks is keeping the position for now.
Jacks throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jacks throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Williams won't allow Jacks to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Williams got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jacks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Williams has managed to get both his arms back between Jacks's legs - danger averted.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Oliver Williams wasn't doing enough on the ground.

and Williams makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Jacks really felt that one!
Jacks takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jacks lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Williams circles away quickly and effectively.

Jacks is rocked!
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Williams lands a nice short elbow.
Jacks is still in real trouble! Can Williams finish him?
Williams is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Jacks is hurt! He's hurt bad - Williams fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Jacks from any more punishment! Congratulations to Williams! Great finish!
