Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Woody May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). May's entrance music is Watch you Bleed by FFDP. A fine choice. Arthur Smith has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Woody May!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arthur Smith !
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
May wants to clinch
and Smith counters with a low kick, right behind May 's knee.

Smith gets a takedown into half guard.
May trying to control but Smith postures up.
Smith is keen to just control but May is a slippery customer.

Smith with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
May has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smith is working away from the top position though.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
May looks to clinch

May tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smith wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but May keeps working.

Smith postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
May avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Smith .

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

May stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Smith .

Smith fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and May has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but May avoids it really well and circles away.

May seems a little lost for a moment, as Smith dominates the positioning.
May parries the strikes from Smith easily there. Smith is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable May to escape.
Smith is looking to take a break and control but May is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Smith working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

May is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Smith tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Smith slows the pace down.
Let's hope that Smith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Smith prevents May from escaping the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Smith fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt May.
May connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Smith scores with a punch to the head.
Smith throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
May tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.
May wants to clinch but Smith slips to the side
and Smith makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Smith thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on May if he has to take too many more of those.

Smith lands a big head kick that sends May tumbling to the mat! Smith takes a step backwards and waves May back to his feet - he wants the finish!


May is rocked!
Smith slips under a jab.
Oh May is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
May on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Smith is stalking May. May circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Smith , and it's lights out! May really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Arthur Smith !
After the fight, Arthur Smith was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
