Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lex Layser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slap Nuts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nuts has chosen Never Surrender as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lex Layser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Slap Nuts!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Layser misses with a hook
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Layser fails with a takedown attempt.
Layser throws an off balance right hand
and Nuts counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nuts throws a looping overhand right but Layser ducks down to avoid it.
Lex Layser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nuts with a jab.
Nice body punch from Nuts.
Layser walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Layser tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nuts throws a poor cross that misses
and Layser counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Nuts!
We've been hearing good reports from Layser's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Layser throws an elbow but Nuts slips to the side and avoids it well.
Layser working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nuts wants to control but Layser postures up.

Nuts is looking for a sweep.
Layser thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nuts struggling a bit here.
Layser wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nuts keeps working.
Layser creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Nuts sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Nuts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Layser. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nuts avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Layser.
Nuts is looking for a sweep.
Nuts is not content to let Layser control the position.
Layser scoring with punches from side control.
Layser throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Nuts defending against the ground and pound.
Layser tries to score with some ground and pound. Nuts controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Nuts stuck in half guard on the bottom here.

Layser moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Layser tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Layser has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Layser is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Nuts is trying to escape and Layser transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Nuts is forced to tap! Nice work there by Layser! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Lex Layser!
An out of breath Lex Layser thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
The defeated Slap Nuts had this to say: 'well, fuck me...'.
