The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Souza misses the shot to the body.
Worldwide avoids the head kick by De Souza.
Worldwide blocks a head kick by De Souza.
Carlos De Souza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Souza tries to land a leg kick but Worldwide saw it coming and moves away.
De Souza attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

De Souza throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Worldwide was covering up waiting for the punch and De Souza finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Worldwide is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and De Souza defends well.

De Souza got a little sloppy there for a moment and Worldwide has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, De Souza has managed to get both his arms back between Worldwide's legs - danger averted.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Worldwide escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. De Souza gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
De Souza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Worldwide on the ground.

Worldwide has his foot on De Souza's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. De Souza works his way back into a safe position though.

Worldwide is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! De Souza has his hands clasped together but Worldwide extends and breaks De Souza's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Worldwide.
