Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Erich Wilkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hamdija Han (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamdija Han will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Erich Wilkinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Hamdija Han!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Han throws a hook but Wilkinson blocks it.
Wilkinson slips under a jab from Han.
Han misses with a hook. Wilkinson ducked under it nicely.
A swing and a miss from Han.
Han fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Wilkinson on the side of the head.
Wilkinson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wilkinson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Han throws out the jab.
Wilkinson tries to clinch but Han moves out of range.
Han throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Wilkinson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Han misses with a straight left.
Han swings widly with a right hand

and Wilkinson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Han's guard now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Han wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Wilkinson manages to pass to side control.

Wilkinson stands up out of the half guard.
Han misses with a right hand
and Wilkinson counters with a head kick. That will keep Han thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Wilkinson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Han pushes Wilkinson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Wilkinson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Wilkinson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Han some visible discomfort.

Wilkinson decides to stand back up. Wilkinson steps back and let's Han get back to his feet.
Han takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Wilkinson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Han throws a poor cross that misses

and Wilkinson moves into the clinch.
Han is trying to force a seperation but Wilkinson has the dominant position.
A frustrated look appears on Wilkinson's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Wilkinson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Wilkinson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Good shot there by Han.


It looks like Erich Wilkinson has been cut.
Han is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Wilkinson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Han.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A left lands for Han.


Wilkinson is rocked!
The fighters circling - Han throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Oh Wilkinson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Han throws a right hand that misses

and Wilkinson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Wilkinson.
Han wants to get back to striking at distance but Wilkinson won't allow it.

Han escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Wilkinson looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Han looks winded!
Han wants to stand and escape but Wilkinson is having none of it.
Wilkinson seems to have got his legs back now.
Wilkinson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wilkinson lands a couple of digs.
Wilkinson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Wilkinson stands up from Han's guard - Wilkinson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Han throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Wilkinson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Han managing to block the knees to the body from Wilkinson.

Wilkinson manages to break the clinch.
Hamdija Han is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wilkinson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Han lands with a hook. Wilkinson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Han rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Wilkinson counters with a head kick.
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Han! Wilkinson is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hamdija Han!
